June 2020 Prayer Letter

Dear Soldiers of the Cross,

2 Corinthians 8:1-4 “Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves; Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.”

I stand amazed at how so many churches and individuals came together to meet the needs of so many suffering among the Navajo people. On June 11th Bro Mike Blanton and myself delivered a full tractor trailer load (approximately 32,000 lbs) of food boxes to the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. What a blessing it was to be a part of this relief project. Even during this time, so many of you are also suffering through these days of covid-19, job losses, food shortages and the list goes on, and you did not let these things stop you from reaching out to others.

Fifteen churches on the reservation took part in receiving your gifts. Each box had a KJV Bible, Gospel tracts, facemask, hand sanitizers, toiletries, and lots of good food. May God bless you for what you have done for these dear folks.

At present the Navajo Nation has 6,747 positive cases of covid-19 and 322 confirmed deaths. Please keep the Navajo people in your prayers. The reservation is still on lockdown and still enforcing an 8PM thru 5AM weekdays curfew and a 57-hour weekend curfew from 8PM Friday thru 5AM Monday morning.

A couple of weeks ago, through the help of supporting churches, we were able to purchase a tractor trailer load of bottled water in Gallup, New Mexico, and allowed the missionaries to pick it up and distribute it among their people. This was a great blessing to them.

The drop-off site for the food boxes was at Chambers Baptist Church, Chambers, Arizona. This is also the location that God has impressed upon our hearts to start a Southwestern Missions Warehouse. Bro Joel Haynes and I talked about this years ago when the property was originally acquired. Please help us pray about this very needful project.

We will be monitoring their progress and keep you informed. Thank you again for your gracious participation.
