Dear Soldiers of the Cross,
My May prayer letter ended with me visiting some reservations in Washington State and also Idaho. I want to give you an update on those visits. On the Coeur D’Alene Reservation God gave me a good contact that I could use to follow-up with later. I marveled at how God led me to the right person, and he was also my first contact. He has a very deep desire to help the Coeur D’Alene people come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ. Please keep this reservation in your prayers and pray that God will direct our path.
My visit to the Kootenai Reservation in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, was a success as well. God enabled me to meet with the chairman of the reservation and introduce myself and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him. I also asked for permission to have a Bible School (VBS) there with the children. He advised me that he would take my request back to the council for approval. Please pray for this effort because there is no church or Gospel witness on this reservation. I was also blessed by God that I did not have to deal with the lady from last year that told me they were not looking for God and that she did not want me there. Thank the Lord we serve an awesome God.
Finally, the highlight of the trip was the Kalispel Reservation. Last year God gave us a wonderful contact person, Ms. Johnson. She is a tribal member and also chief of the fire department there on the reservation and a Christian. Praise the Lord! Ms. Johnson was very excited to have us come for the purpose of getting the Gospel to her Native people. Our meeting was a great success — we are scheduled to have a VBS on the Kalispel Reservation the last week in July. Praise the Lord! There’s not a church or a Gospel witness on this reservation. Faith Baptist Church in Spokane, Washington, will be helping us with this VBS. Please pray that God will be pleased to visit with us in a special way and that souls will be saved. We are already making plans to start a new church work among these dear precious people. Pray for God’s speed with this work.
I’m rejoicing in the Lord for the wonderful opportunity God gave us to carry my pastor and a group from our church, Hoopers Creek Baptist Church, to Alaska. We went to help Missionary / Pastor Kevin Smith and his dear folks at Open Door Baptist Church with VBS there in Fairbanks, Alaska. God met with us in a special way with door knocking and inviting everyone to come. We averaged 30 kids each night with 2 souls making professions. Praise the Lord! It was worth it. I want to thank the group for working so hard to make this Bible School a success; truly their hearts were in the work. Please pray for the rest of our Bible Schools that God will continue to help the workers and the hearers.
Please continue to pray for leadership from the Lord concerning the Southwest warehouse project.
