November 2016
Dear Soldiers of the Cross,
We trust you had a blessed Thanksgiving season with family and friends and hopefully time spent in thanksgiving to the Lord. God truly has blessed our family with blessings beyond measure.
November was a very exciting time for us. The Lord gave us a great opportunity to visit reservations and missionaries in the state of Washington and also Oregon. We visited 5 reservations, a total of 18 tribes and 4 missionaries. There are 54 tribes in those two states with only 4 missionaries preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Oh, how we need men of God to get under a burden for these forgotten people. Ezekiel 3:18 “When
I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” In Luke 16:24 the rich man called out Lazarus’ name from hell. Who will be calling out our name and what will they be saying? Could it be, “You met me day by day and knew I was astray, yet you never mentioned Jesus to me”?
We were blessed to visit with the Puallup Tribe and preach for them at Tacoma Indian Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington, where Bro Louie Lauvale is missionary / pastor. We really did enjoy our time with him and his dear folks.
Next we visited with the Yakima Reservation and preached for them at Lower Valley Indian Baptist Church where Bro Glen Holmann is missionary / pastor. God met with us in a special way and did a work in my heart, and I hope as well in the hearts of those dear folks. Bro Glen has served the Lord in Native missions for nearly 30 years.
We then traveled to the Colville Reservation where 12 tribes occupy this one reservation. The Lord blessed and allowed us to preach at Way of the Cross Indian Baptist Church where Bro Bob Phillips is missionary / pastor. Bro Bob has been a faithful servant to these dear folks for nearly 30 years. Lord, please bless him for his faithfulness.
The Lord blessed us with our final visit at Glendoveer Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon, where Bro Larry McKinney is missionary / pastor. We were blessed to preach and present our missions work at the church. We enjoyed a time of worship and Thanksgiving dinner with his dear folks at the church. Bro Larry has been a faithful servant working with urban Natives for nearly 30 year. Bro Larry and I had a good visit out on the Warm Springs Reservation. The Lord gave us opportunity to meet with the Tribal Council and have a time of prayer with them. There is a Baptist church building on the reservation but no preacher. Please pray God will send one to preach His Word to these dear folks. Please pray for these men of God, that God will continue to use them in His vineyard.
