Dear Soldiers of the Cross,
I trust you are doing well and enjoying these early days of spring. As God has given us a new year, he has also given us new opportunities to labor for him in his vineyard of fishing for the souls of men. This brings me to share with you one of the greatest opportunities God has ever allowed me to labor in his fields. Psalm 138:2 “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” On March 12th and 13th through Awake America and Capital Connection, which is a part of Independent Baptist Church in Clinton, Maryland, we had the wonderful opportunity to exalt God’s WORD by putting a copy of John Eliot’s Native American Bible in every office in Congress. There is no greater opportunity as God’s people than to share God’s Word with others. But to place his Word into our government offices was a life changing experience for me. We were welcomed by all the staff, as we presented the Bible. We were also allowed to pray for each of them. I could feel God’s presence with us and upon the grounds. This reminded me that this country was founded upon God, and our roots are still in God. We all know that we have gotten far away from him, but through the help of God’s people praying for our government, we can get back to serving him once again. Look at all the times I’ve used the word opportunity. Are you taking advantage of all the opportunities God is giving you? Please don’t let them pass you by. The reprint of John Eliot’s Native American Bible is now finished. We have raised just over $47,000. We need at least $60,000 to place a 100-book order. We really do need for God’s people to step up and help us with the purchase of this John Eliot Bible. We can never go wrong by giving people the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their own language. This was the first Bible printed in America, and it was a Native American Bible translated into the Algonquin language. This Bible was printed in 1663 on present day grounds of Harvard University. We want to put this Bible back into the hands of the Wampanoag people at no charge to them.
