September 2019 Prayer Letter

Dear Soldiers of the Cross,
I hope you are enjoying these cooler days as much as I am—this summer heat will go down into the record books. These past days make me all the gladder that I’m not going to hell.

In our last letter I shared with you briefly of our encounter with a hailstorm in Gillette, Wyoming. We received quite a bit of hail damage to our camper. The estimate is around $22,000, and we have not gotten approval form the insurance company. Please make this a matter of prayer, that our repairs will be approved. Also please remember the Bakers. The estimate just on their home was nearly $50,000.

We made our way over to the Pine Ridge Reservation and had a wonderful visit with missionaries Ken and Sherry Trivette. Our time was cut short due to Ms Sheril’s increased back pain. After our return home Ms Sheril met with her doctors and had a nerve procedure preformed on her back. This has given her much relief. Please continue to pray for her. She had a very difficult time during our summer missions projects this year, but she was a real trooper and hung in as long as she could. Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” As I look back over this past year we are encouraged as we recall 14 souls asking God for salvation, and I say to myself it truly has been worth it all. GLORY TO HIS NAME!

We had a wonderful opportunity to preach on the Cheroenhaka (Nottoway) Reservation in Courtland, Virginia. God met with us in a special way, and many witnessed that they were helped.

I was diagnosed with pneumonia and had to cancel some of my meetings and an appointment with the chief of the Maliseet Tribe in Maine. I’m doing much better now and trying to get back on course.

On October 10th my sister Diane went home to be with the Lord. Our hearts are saddened but heaven is rejoicing. She had waited a long time for God to give her a new heart, and now she has one that’s without corruption. Please pray for our family as we continue to heal during the upcoming days.

As We Labor for Christ,

Gerry and Sheril Locklear
