June 2022 Prayer Letter

Dear Soldiers of the Cross,

The Lord gave Ms. Sheril and I a wonderful opportunity to have some time together as we traveled out to Gillette, WY to attend the Western Baptist Missions Warehouse Missions meeting. The meeting was a blessing as we met with friends and worshipped together. Please pray for this ministry as God continues to use brother Doug and sister Robbin as they ministry to the western missionaries. Without this helps ministry, many of our missionaries would suffer greatly for lack of ministry supplies.

As most of you know, Ms. Sheril is spending most of her time giving medical care to her mom. This has been an ongoing effort for about 4 years now and for the past 2 years more time has been needed. Please pray for Ms. Sheril, as she is really not physically able to do all that she is doing. Also pray for me as I travel along, not having her with me is a missing link in our ministry.

As I look over the lives of many missionaries and preachers, I’m far from being the only one that has had to labor alone in the ministry. Many of God’s men have had to leave their families behind for the works sake. Praise the Lord, we are encouraged by God’s Word, 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

Praise the Lord, we are in full force with our vacation Bible Schools (VBS)’s for the summer. Our first one was in Fairbanks, Alaska at Open Door Baptist Church with Missionary / Pastor Kevin Smith and his dear folks. Little Ivy Baptist Church, here in WNC, helped us with this outstanding VBS. God met with us in a special way and brought in lots of kids. We averaged between 50 and 64 each night, what a blessing. We spent a lot of time door knocking. This is always an adventurous time, dealing with mad dogs and obnoxious people, but this is where you find sinners. We are commanded in God’s Word, Luke 14:23, “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”

I wonder, as Gods people, are we doing all that we can do to get the Gospel out to this lost and dying world. Friend, this should be our daily desire to reach the lost for Christ. Please keep our Bible Schools in your prayers. God has blessed us with 10 Bible Schools this summer and we sure do need the touch of God upon them. Also, continue to pray for all the churches that have committed to helping us, that all their needs will be supplied. The Alaska VBS was estimated at over $30.000. You may think this is an outrageous price, but what is the value you would place on your salvation? If you were this person that needed a word for God, would you say, “the price is too great, just let me die and go to hell,” or would you say “PLEASE PAY THE COST THAT I BE NOT LOST.”

As we Labor for Christ,
