Dear Soldiers of the Cross,
Many years ago, God gave me a dear pastor and beloved friend, Bro Harry Thomas. Bro Harry pastors Christian Chapel Baptist Church in Lillington, North Carolina. God used him mightily to teach me many things from the Word of God. One of those things is not to be afraid to continue in repetition when God is moving in it. This brings me back to Psalm 107:23-24 “They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.” Once again, I can’t put into words the joy that God has filled my heart with in these last few months. The net has been cast, and the blessings are flowing out in all directions. Beloved, if you are not there, just launch out into the deep and see the works and the wonders of the Lord.
This year we had 12 Bible schools scheduled. Three were concealed, but nine were a great success. I’m not a numbers person, but I feel I need to honor God with this information: 21 precious souls professed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, two were called to preach, and one was called to the mission field. You might ask, “How did all this happen?” It’s because God’s people were willing to step out and trust God to make a way when they could not see a way. As a result, souls were saved and lives changed for the glory of God. Oh God, thank you so much for letting me be a part of what you are doing!
Thank you, Faith Baptist Church, for your help with the Bible schools on the Kalispel Reservation and the Spokane Reservation in Washington State. Because of your faithfulness and your willingness to serve God, three precious souls got saved. God has given you fruits for your labors. We are looking forward to our continued labors together on these reservations.
In the last six weeks God allowed us to visit nine reservations in the Northwest. We had the blessed opportunity to visit Bro Wayne Voss and his dear wife, sister Barbare. We spent serval days visiting with them and encouraging them in their work there on the Flathead Reservation in Montana. Shortly after our visit Sister Barbare went home to be with the Lord. We were able to attend her funeral in Missoula, Montana, on August 22nd. Please pray for Bro Voss as he continues his missions work without his dear wife.
We had the great privilege to visit our dear friends on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Our hearts were filled as I looked over this great congregation of 105 souls. Please continue to pray for Missionary Pastor Mike Fiedler and his dear family as they minister to these dear folks.
One of the highlights of our trip was our visit with Missionary Pastor Ed Bausell and his dear wife Ruby on the Rose Bud Reservation in South Dakota. Bro Ed and Sister Ruby are precious people that have committed 50 years to minister to our Native people. I’m so thankful for them being willing to give their lives for others. Please pray for them and their ministry.
